Wahoo fans,

Football season is finally here. With the increase in message board traffic, the topics are going to spin off the main board almost as quickly as they are written. We are asking that you please only post off-topic messages on the General Discussion (or Corner) message board. This will allow many of the football-only type posts to remain on the first page of the message board for a little bit longer.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Go Hoos!

   Recruiting News

This Week In Recruiting
By Chris Horne

Video highlights of Hermitage linebacker Andrew Bowman have been posted for Sabre Edge members. Not only is Bowman one of the fastest linebackers around, but he is a ferocious hitter. Bowman has received nine scholarship offers to date - Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, and UNC among others.

Millsville (NJ) defensive end/tackle Dwayne Hendricks is more open at this point in his process, and hopes to narrow his list to ten schools by September. He has received over 30 scholarship offers.

Butler (NC) safety Jamar Adams has received around six offers to date. Virginia has offered along with Michigan, Georgia, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, and UNC. Adams promises to be one of the most highly recruited prospects in North Carolina, a state which is very deep in talent for the 2004 recruiting class.

Westfield's dynamic duo Sean Glennon and Eddie Royal visited Virginia Tech this week. Be sure to stay tuned to Sabre Edge for recruiting updates following their visit. The Cavs have not offered Glennon, however will likely offer Royal in the near future. It appears Glennon will decide between Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

Virginia is interested in St Joseph's Prep (Philadelphia, PA) linebacker Brian Tracz. Tracz, who likes the Big 10 style of play, is also being courted by Michigan, Penn State, and Indiana among others. At 6-2, 235 pounds, Tracz ran a 4.62 at the Penn State Nike Camp earlier this year. Teams are likely waiting to see if he has fully recovered from arthroscopic knee surgery this February before making official offers. He ran the 4.62 one month after the surgery and says he is feeling great right now. Tracz visited UVA's spring game.

Spring Valley defensive end Mack Frost is not letting on if he has any favorites. He wants to wait until his senior season is over before narrowing his list. He visited Virginia, Florida, Maryland, Auburn, and South Carolina for camps this summer.

Other news.

Virginia lost out on a couple of Maryland prospects to the Maryland Terrapins. LB Erin Henderson, brother of former Maryland standout linebacker EJ Henderson, and Wilde Lake defensive tackle Dane Randolph verbally committed to the Terps over Virginia.
