Fellow Hoos,

GEICO has been a sponsor of TheSabre.com for a couple of months now. The focus of our GEICO campaign is to promote their 15-minute online rate quoting service.

It's simple: you click this link, fill out their online rate quote forms, and they'll show you how much it would cost to get your car insurance with them. The forms took us under 15 minutes to fill out, so if you're at work and looking for a break, take a few minutes and fill them out!

Filling out GEICO's online rate quote does two things: (1) you could save up to 15% on your car insurance; (2) it gives GEICO feedback that their sponsorship of TheSabre.com is working, because clicking this link and filling out the forms gives us credit for generating an on-line rate quote.

So, even if you think you're happy with your car insurance rates, give GEICO a run, and at the very least, you'll be doing TheSabre.com community a favor. But it may pay off for you!

*Please note, your quote is confidential and secure - your information will not be sold or distributed.

Once again, thanks for supporting TheSabre.com and its sponsors.

Reynolds tearing it up

If there's one bright spot for the UVa men's basketball program, it's the lift they will likely get when Oak Hill Academy senior guard J.R. Reynolds steps on the floor next season.

Reynolds has been lighting it up of late for the Warriors. Two weeks ago, Reynolds broke the school record of 12 three pointers in a game. He nailed 14 of them and didn't even play in the fourth quarter. By halftime, Reynolds had hit on 11 of 12 from beyond the arc. Reynolds finished the game shooting 14-20 from beyond the three-point mark, scoring a career-high 44 points. Over the last four games, Reynolds has nailed 29 of his 47 attempts from beyond the arc.

If you'd like to get an early look at Reynolds, he'll be in Charlottesville this weekend. On Saturday at 7:30, Reynolds' Oak Hill team will face Montrose Christian in University Hall. According to the Charlottesville Daily Progress, USA Today is hyping this as the best high school basketball match-up in the nation this week.

This week ...

Hoos lose to Wake and Ohio

Virginia continued their tumble this past week, losing to both Wake Forest and Ohio on the road. The Hoos played tough at #10 Wake, dropping a hard-fought contest, 75-71. The loss to Ohio (78-72) is a bit embarrassing for the Cavaliers, since the Bobcats are not anywhere close to being among the nation's elite, holding just a 10-14 record on the season. The losses put the Cavaliers' current losing streak at five, and most certainly prevent them from heading to the NCAA Tournament, unless the Hoos somehow win the ACC Tournament and gain an automatic bid. Even if they win out and finish 8-8 in the conference, out of conference losses to Virginia Tech and Ohio would weigh in heavily and prevent the NCAA Tournament from inviting the Cavaliers.

Virginia has just three contests remaining, all in conference. They travel to Tallahassee to face Florida State this Saturday (noon, televised by Raycom Sports), then return home to University Hall for games against Georgia Tech (March 5) and Maryland (March 9). If the Hoos hope to get an invitation to the NIT, they will likely need to win at least two of these contests.

For news on all Cavalier games, please see UVa Basketball Schedule.

UVa lacrosse to play Cuse this weekend

Virginia will travel to top-ranked Syracuse this Saturday. The Hoos opened their season with a decisive victory over Drexel (19-8) last weekend. This weekend will provide a much tougher test for the Hoos. If the Cavaliers can pull off a win, it would be the first win over 'Cuse since the 1999 NCAA Tournament. The contest is scheduled for 3:00 PM at the Carrier Dome in New York.

UVa baseball games cancelled for this weekend

Because of bad weather, the three-game series with Seton Hall this weekend has been cancelled. There is still no word on Monday's game at Richmond. Please refer to UVa's official website for news on upcoming games.
