5-11, 160-pound point guard T.J. Bannister has committed to the University of Virginia. Bannister hails from Arlington Country Day H.S. in Jacksonville, Florida. He committed to the Hoos today after taking a visit to UVa over the weekend.

Bannister's stock is rising quickly. He's already listed as a three-star recruiting and the 26th best point guard in the nation by RivalsHoops.com.

Bannister's strengths are his quickness and ability to get to the basket. He has the ability to break down his defender off the dribble and make things happen.

In July, Bannister participated in the Eastern Invitational All-Star contest, contributing a team-high 17 points and six assists.

Bannister chose the Cavaliers over supposed leaders Alabama and Florida State.

"I've committed to Virginia - I called the coaches already," Bannister told TheSabre. "It just felt like a great situation for me. It's somewhere I can play early. The campus was beautiful and the team just felt like a family."
