Ron Darden, a 6-4, 315-pound offensive lineman from Glen Burnie High School in Maryland has committed to the University of Virginia. Darden visited UVa last weekend.

With the de-commitment from Florida offensive lineman Randy Hand recently, UVa reacted quickly and landed a very good lineman who could quite possibly help the Cavaliers as early as next season.

Darden is ranked two stars from Rivals100.com and did not have a lot of offers from top schools, but don't be fooled. Darden has only played football for two years and recently participated in the U.S. Army All-American football game in San Antonio, Texas, along with UVa recruiting prospects Ahmad Brooks, Maurice Stovall and Kai Parham.

Darden chose the Cavaliers over Maryland, East Carolina and Kent.
