I've received word from a couple of sources that Lance Evans, a 6-5, 185-pound safety, has committed to Virginia. Evans plays for Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, New Jersey.

Evans is rated three stars and has a ranking of 46 nationally at his position by Rivals100.com. He is considered one of the best safeties in the state of New Jersey.

Last season, Evans made 55 tackles and had five intereception. No available stats for this season. In addition to Virginia, Evans was interested in Penn State, Wisconsin, Boston College, Rutgers and Iowa.

There's no official word from the player or coach at this time, but if this information is correct, Evans will be the 21st commitment for the Cavaliers, who recently moved up to 4th in the national recruiting rankings by Rivals 100.
