UVa Receives Commitment from Offensive Lineman

Virginia has received a commitment from D.J. Bell, a 6-4, 298-pound offensive lineman from Caesar Rodney High School in Camden, Delaware.

Bell chose Virginia over offers from Pitt, Boston College and N.C. State. He also had some interest in Maryland. According to Rivals100.com, Bell is a three-star recruit and is ranked 51st at his position nationally.

This bodes well for UVa, a team that loses several senior offensive linemen to graduation this year.

UVa fans were already anticipating an offensive line commitment this weekend, but most expected it to be from Randy Hand (6-6, 305, Estero, FL). Hand has recently said that he is favoring Virginia over North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina and Miami. He is rated the #8 prospect at his position nationally by Rivals100.

The Hoos already have offensive linemen commitments from Damian Spradlin, Robert Armstrong, Robert Jenkins and Brad Butler. See recruiting commitments for details.
