Virginia gains another in-state commitment

Jeff White of the Richmond Times-Dispatch is reporting that Antwan Stewart, a 6-0, 180-pound running back from Potomac H.S. in Dumfries, Va has committed to play for the University of Virginia.

Stewart is a high school teammate of UVa defensive tackle commitment Keenan Carter. He plays a variety of positions for Potomac, including tailback, wide receiver and defensive back.

Stewart is one of the state's best running backs, a list that includes Mike Imoh, Michael Johnson and Thomas Clayton. Although Stewart is a good back (1,076 yards rushing and 14 touchdowns during the regular season), he will likely play defensive back for UVa.

Stewart's assets are his versitality and his speed. More to come later.

Times Dispatch report

In other news, rumors are flying that Kwakou Robinson, a top-rated defensive tackle from Polytechnic Prep in Brooklyn, NY has committed to the Cavaliers. These reports are presently unconfirmed. Robinson was reported to have enjoyed his official visit to Virginia last weekend. Other rumors say that if Robinson has indeed committed to UVa, that top linebacker recruit Ahmad Brooks may also be on his way. At this time, nothing has been confirmed. Stay tuned.
