Kickoff Time for UVa's Game At Miami

The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the start time for Virginia's Nov. 7 football game at Miami. The game will be televised by regional sports networks and will begin at 3 p.m.

That game will mark four straight mid-afternoon kickoffs for Virginia on the RSN networks. UVa's game with Georgia Tech this Saturday kicks off at 3 p.m. with the same television assignment.

This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

Baseball fans, be sure to check out the feature on UVa’s true freshman class linked below. The class, ranked No. 11 by Baseball America, features top in-state players Evan Sperling and Connor Eason as well as high-profile out-of-state players such as Doak Dozier and Ryan Karstetter.

Basketball-wise, stay tuned this week for more reports from last week’s Media Day. I spoke with true freshman Jarred Reuter and transfer Austin Nichols regarding their experiences in Charlottesville so far and more. I also caught up with redshirt freshman center Jack Salt for thoughts on his redshirt year, the coming season, and more.

EDGE subscribers can read my initial article from the Media Day linked below. It was on freshman walk-on Justice Bartley, and here is a blurb from the piece ...

Justice Bartley had decided to attend Columbia University. After falling "a point or two short" on the ACT of gaining admission there, though, he was left exploring other options. This summer, the options were down to two.

UNLV offered the 6'5", 209-pound guard an opportunity to walk on this fall and go on scholarship next spring. The University of Virginia offered the former Montrose Christian (Rockville, MD) team captain a recruited walk-on opportunity with no guarantee of a scholarship. He chose the latter and seems very happy with his decision.

"I came on a visit here during the summer time and the one thing that stuck out to me immediately was the brotherhood that we have here," Bartley said. "Everyone's trying to encourage one another. The coaching staff is really great. The vibe I got from being around the team and the coaching staff is what made my decision to come here."

On the football recruiting front, stay tuned for reports on Cavalier class of 2015 commitment Tre Harbison and junior tight end target Griffin Sestili. Harbison discusses signing a grant-in-aid with the Hoos and more, while Sestili talks the Virginia offer and recruiting.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball.
