   Recruiting News

This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

Basketball recruiting was expected to take center stage last week. The Virginia football program certainly made its share of headlines on the recruiting front too, though, picking up four new commitments last week.

UVa football’s 2016 Class has grown to 14 commitments. The new pledges include ...

- Darrius Bratton, CB/WR, William Fleming High School in Roanoke, Virginia
- Deedrick Daniels Jr., CB, Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida
- Jordan Mack, S, Wesleyan High School in Norcross, Georgia
- Chris Moore, DB, Broad Run High School in Ashburn, Virginia

This week I will have much more on these new recruits and the class of 2016 in a "Strategy Session.:

Basketball recruiting-wise, EDGE subscribers can read the latest recruiting news on the EDGE Subscribers Board as well as NBPA Top 100 Reports on class of 2017 point guard Matt Coleman and class of 2016 combo guard Markelle Fultz.

I'll have my report on class of 2016 target Mamadi Diakite as well as a "Sabre Scoop" on the recruits that visited UVa following the Top 100 Camp. Diakite, a 6’9” PF/C out of Blue Ridge School (St. George, VA), has a top three of Southern Cal, UVa and Washington, and he plans to commit by the end of the summer.

Tony Bennett and company hosted Providence College transfer Paschal Chukwu, a 7’2” center, this past weekend on a visit. Chukwu reportedly has visited Michigan State this week. He has taken previous visits to Nebraska, Kansas, and Iona. Syracuse may get a look as well.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball.
