Jimmy Miller's Bracket Breakfast

Come to the Jimmy Magic Man Miller Bracket Breakfast to get the inside scoop on the Final Four from a legendary panel of basketball experts. Fill out a bracket and you could win a big screen TV from Crutchfield and many other prizes! It's all for the benefit of Piedmont CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children who live in our community.

The Bracket Breakfast is scheduled for Monday morning (doors open at 7 a.m.), March 16, at the Charlottesville Omni. The event features the four-man panel of Ralph Sampson, Barry Parkhill, Jay James (Sabre media partner "Best Seat in the House"), and Antonio Rice. The panel will give you their thoughts the morning after the NCAA Tournament brackets are revealed so you can have the inside scoop on March Madness. Hosted by Voice of the Cavaliers Dave Koehn and Newsplex reporter Rachel Ryan, this is a great opportunity to mingle with other Virginia fans and celebrate another great season for the Hoos too!

By attending the Bracket Breakfast, you could also win prizes like:

- 65" Samsung TV from Crutchfield
- Signed basketball from the two-time ACC Regular Season Champion Cavaliers
- 4 mid-court tickets to the UVa men's basketball game of your choice with parking
- 2 50-yard line tickets to a UVa men's football game of your choice with parking
- 3 Gift Certificates from UVA Bookstores, TheSabre.com's longest running sponsor
- 4 Gift Certificates from Eljo's
- And more!

The Bracket Breakfast is a fundraiser for Piedmont CASA. The organization serves children that range in age from newborn to 18 that live in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Greene, and Louisa and are victims of abuse and neglect. The worst cases end up in court, and that’s when judges appoint Piedmont CASA Volunteers to advocate for the best interests of the children - hundreds of them each year. Research shows that children with CASA Volunteers spend less time in court, less time in foster homes, and find safe and permanent homes faster - all keys to breaking the vicious cycle of abuse and neglect. No other organization performs this service, and we do not charge fees.

This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

Three of UVa’s men’s basketball recruits were in action this past week.

Class of 2015 power forward Jarred Reuter, who signed a letter of intent with the Hoos in November of 2014, helped Brewster Academy (Wolfeboro, N.H.) to a NEPSAC Class AAA title this past weekend. Class of 2016 combo guard Ty Jerome and his Iona Prep (New Rochelle, N.Y.) teammates are still alive in the Intersectional playoffs after a win this past Saturday, while Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN), which features class of 2016 combo guard Kyle Guy, won its Sectional opener but lost this past Friday to end its 2014/2015 season. Jerome and Guy have committed to UVa but cannot officially sign until November of 2015.

Early this week I'll have a full recap of how UVa men's basketball recruits performed this past week. I'll also have a report on class of 2016 big man Jay Huff, a prospect UVa has not offered but is watching closely. Huff, a 6'10" junior, is also getting a look from Duke.

Football recruiting-wise, this week I’ll take a look at some of the top in-state prospects in the class of 2016. I also plan to catch up with New Jersey native Sonny Abramson, one of three prospects to commit to the Hoos in the class of 2016.

Abramson, a quarterback, pledged to UVa last November. He joins wide receivers Joseph Reed and Cole Blackman in the Cavaliers’ class of 2016. I have posted recent EDGE reports on Reed and Blackman, so be sure to check those out in the archives.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball. To sign up for an EDGE subscription, please check out the Sabre EDGE Sign Up and Information Page. If you're already on board as an EDGE subscriber, click the links below to catch up on recruiting.
