This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

UVa-bound forward Sacha Killeya-Jones scored 23 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in the VISAA Division II State Championship game this past Saturday. Unfortunately, the 6’10” junior’s effort wasn’t enough to help VES capture the state title. Blue Ridge defeated the Bishops by 11 points.

Another UVa-bound junior, combo guard Ty Jerome, helped Iona Prep (New Rochelle, N.Y.) to a CHSAA AA Archdiocesan Tournament Championship this past Saturday. The 6’4” Jerome had 33 points in the win.

Read about Jerome and more in a “Notes” piece I posted this past Sunday (linked below). This week in recruiting, I’ll keep you posted on how Jerome, UVa class of 2015 signee Jarred Reuter, and UVa class of 2016 combo guard commit Kyle Guy perform in postseason action. All three players will be in action.

Also this week, I plan to have updates on some of Virginia men’s basketball class of 2016 targets.

On the football recruiting front, stay tuned for updates on UVa class of 2016 commitments Sonny Abramson and Cole Blackman. I’ll see what those prospects are up to this offseason and what they may be doing to help the Cavaliers on the recruiting trail. I also took a look at in-state class of 2017 linebacker Dylan Rivers, who has seen a surge in his recruitment the past month or so. Rivers has an offer from Virginia. That article is linked below as well.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball.
