This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

UVa men’s basketball received some big news last week, when 4-star junior combo guard Kyle Guy pledged to the Hoos. Virginia now has two commitments in the class of 2016, which is a key class for the program with Justin Anderson, Malcolm Brogdon, Anthony Gill, Evan Nolte, and Mike Tobey projected to move on after the 2015/2016 season.

With commitments from Guy and New York combo guard Ty Jerome, Virginia has three spots available in the class of 2016. Check out our new “Scholarship Picture” page for a complete breakdown of the scholarships in the coming seasons. The page has been updated with Guy’s commitment. This week, I’ll take a look at the rest of UVa’s early targets and where the staff may focus their efforts with the remaining available spots.

In case you missed it, EDGE subscribers can read my latest update on Ty Jerome linked below. In the piece, Jerome discusses UVa’s newest pledge as well as the quality performances he has turned in this fall.

Football recruiting-wise, class of 2015 targets Warren Craft and Gary Jennings were in Scott Stadium on unofficial visits this past Saturday. Both players have been offered by the Cavaliers and are two of Virginia’s top remaining targets. Stay tuned for the latest on these two prospects.

A number of committed players were in Scott Stadium as well this past Saturday so stay tuned for updates from them as well. For a complete rundown of those prospects we confirmed to be in Charlottesville last Saturday, check out the free “Confirmed Visitors” report linked below.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball.
