This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

Some of UVa’s early top class of 2016 targets were in Scott Stadium this past Saturday to see UVa’s 24-19 win over Pittsburgh. For a list of those recruits confirmed to be in attendance, check out the Confirmed Visitors report linked below. The report is free, so it can be accessed by all TheSabre.com followers.

Stay tuned for reports on these prospects in the days and weeks ahead.

Early this week, I’ll have a feature profile on West Orange (Winter Garden, FL) defensive end Brandon Wilson, Virginia football’s latest commitment in the 2015 recruiting class. The 6’4”, 240-pound senior has a lot of potential according to his coach, who raves about Wilson’s combination of size and athletic ability and desire to get to the football. Wilson says the Virginia coaches and the defense were major reasons why he chose the Cavaliers over offers from UNC, Wisconsin, and others.

Also this week, I’ll have another “Week In Review” feature. In case you missed last week’s edition (linked below), South Aiken (Aiken, S.C.) head coach Jeremy West discussed 4-star Cavalier commit Rasool Clemons in-depth. Clemons was last week’s spotlighted player.

Basketball recruiting-wise, Tony Bennett and company are expected to host class of 2016 combo guard Kyle Guy on an unofficial visit this weekend. I hope to have a report on Guy plus more on the basketball recruiting trail this week.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball. To sign up for an EDGE subscription, please check out the Sabre EDGE Sign Up and Information Page. If you're already on board as an EDGE subscriber, click the links below to catch up on recruiting.
