RestoreUVA, a student group, is holding their second annual online fall auction in support of the restoration of the Rotunda, a historic landmark. The auction runs this Thursday, Dec. 5 and can be viewed at https://restoreuva.betterworldcollective.com.

This year's auction features several items that may interest UVa fans:

  • A Lesson with Joe Harris
  • Signed memorabilia from different teams
  • A private, catered dinner for 20 in the Dome Room of the Rotunda

RestoreUVA is a fundraising initiative developed in 2011 by students at the University of Virginia to help support the restoration of the Rotunda.

This Week In Recruiting With Chris Horne

Upland (CA) senior Jeffery Farrar and Arizona Western College prospect Blake Whiteleymade official visits to the University of Virginia this past weekend. I hope to have full reports on both players later this week.

Farrar, who actually finishes up his official visit Monday morning, is a Cavalier commitment. He did make official visits to Utah and Washington State earlier this fall, though, so this past weekend was important in terms of solidifying his commitment even further.

Whiteley, who is looking to enroll in a major FBS program in January of 2014, made Virginia his second official visit stop. Purdue was the first. The 6'5", 240-pound tight end prospect is looking to make at least one more official visit before he makes his college choice.

This weekend, Virginia will play host to at least two official visitors in quarterback Corwin Cutler and wide receiver Jamil Kamara.

Cutler is a Virginia 2013 signee who is in a postgraduate year at Fork Union. He remains committed to the Hoos. His good friend, Kamara, is uncommitted but down to three: Wisconsin, Pitt, and UVa. Kamara will announce his college choice at the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 4. Stay tuned this weekend for reports on Cutler and Kamara.

Also this week, stay tuned for more reports from those prospects that were in attendance for the Virginia Tech game last Saturday. Those visitors included about half of UVa's class of 2014, including 5-star commit Quin Blanding.

Chris Horne, our resident recruiting expert, provides updates throughout the week for EDGE subscribers about UVa's commitments and recruiting targets in football and men's basketball.
