Spurlock: "I'm A Cavalier"

The Virginia men's basketball program landed its second commitment of the 2009 class Wednesday night when another Boo Williams AAU prospect chose the Cavaliers. Montrose Christian forward Tristan Spurlock verbally committed to the Hoos after narrowing his choices to a final two of UVa and Georgetown. He joins guard Jontel Evans in the recruiting class.

"I'm a Cavalier," Spurlock confirmed with Sabre recruiting analyst Chris Horne.

Spurlock, a 6'8", 216-pound wing forward, had closed in on a decision date early this month after naming a final five (Clemson, Georgetown, N.C. State, Virginia, Wake Forest) in July. Ultimately, however, his decision came down to the Cavaliers and the Hoyas. Spurlock cancelled a recently scheduled visit with Georgetown before officially settling on the school that had been believed to be the leading candidate for most of his recruitment.
