Bowanko Becomes Virginia's Latest Commitment

Offensive line is one of the more pressing needs for the University of Virginia in the 2009 class, and today the Cavaliers landed its first offensive line commitment in Centreville (Clifton, VA) offensive tackle Luke Bowanko. The 6-6, 260-pound prospect pledged earlier today, four days after scoring an official scholarship offer from head coach Al Groh.

Bowanko's most recent visit to UVa was for its Spring Game on April 12th. That day, he was able to provide Al Groh junior film. Groh and company certainly liked what they saw and extended the offer just over a week later. Virginia was the first Division 1A program to extend an offer, but a handful of others were very interested.
