Lundy First Pick of 6th Round in NFL Draft

Virginia running back Wali Lundy, one of the most prodcutive players in school and ACC history, joined three other teammates as NFL Draft selections Sunday. Lundy was taken by the Houston Texans as the first pick of the sixth round.

Certainly, Lundy helped his prospects with a strong showing at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis where he posted a 4.45 time in the 40-yard dash. Still, there are some concerns about Lundy's power and durability (he missed several games at Virginia) as he moves to the next level.

Rob Rang, Senior Analyst at NFLDraftScout.com, believed Lundy would be a second-day pick.

"We have Lundy ranked as a mid to late day two selection, at this time," Rang said. "While he worked out very well, Lundy's speed and power is not always evident in either his running or blocking. At this point, we feel he'll be best served in a capacity similar to the one used at Virginia, as a member of a running back committee."
