West Springfield's Lalich Commits to Cavaliers

Quarterback Peter Lalich has committed to Virginia.

Just a day after a handful of UVa assistant coaches headed to West Springfield (Springfield, VA) High School, highly touted quarterback Peter Lalich verbally committed to the University of Virginia over offers from Miami, Michigan and UCLA, among others. The 6-5, 235-pound Lalich was offered by Virginia last fall and has favored the Hoos for quite some time.

As a junior, Lalich completed 189 of 331 passes (57%) for 2,671 yards with 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He was a first-team All-Patriot District and a Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention selection. Lalich also earned first-team all-combine honors at the National Junior combine in San Antonio in January 2006. The National Junior combine brings together the top players from all across the country.

Lalich is the fifth commitment for the Cavs' 2007 class. The others are Max Milien (RB), Jared Detrick (LB), Dom Joseph (DB), and J'Courtney Williams (LB/S).
