Cavaliers receive first commitment for 2007 class

UVa landed commitment #1 for the 2007 class today, as Woodside (Newport News, VA) star Jared Detrick verballed to the 'Hoos. Detrick, who has started his first three seasons in high school, is a 6-2, 230-pound linebacker prospect.

Detrick plays tight end and defensive end for Woodside, but projects as a linebacker on the next level. UVa started off the 2006 recruiting class by landing another linebacker, Glassboro star George Johnson, Jr.
