Friends, big changes are afoot here at TheSabre.com, changes for the better. I will soon be moving out of my role as General Manager and of TheSabre and taking a new position in which I can much more effectively apply my strengths in web design and photography, a most welcome opportunity for me. In case anyone is wondering, I will still be around as much as ever.

I am extremely pleased and excited to announce that we have hired John Galinsky, formerly of the Charlottesville Daily Progress, to be the new General Manager and Editor in Chief of TheSabre.com. Many of you are already familiar with John's outstanding writing; we are extremely fortunate to have him onboard.

A native of Austin, TX, John graduated from The University of Virginia in 1992 with degrees in both English and Philosophy. While at UVa, he worked at the University Journal as Sports Editor for two years. After a post-graduation stint at The Fresno Bee, John returned to Charlottesville and served as a reporter at The Daily Progress for 11 years covering UVa sports, primarily football, women's basketball and lacrosse. In that time, John won 10 (count 'em!) Virginia Press Association Awards for his writing, so we aren't the only ones who think he is an exceptional sports journalist.

If you are a Sabre Edge subscriber, be excited. John will be the website's primary journalistic voice, will manage all the content, and will make your subscription package even better.
